Morals in the Qur'an

Islam is a comprehensive way of life, and morality is one of the cornerstones of  Islam.  Morality is one of the fundamental sources of a nation’s strength, just as immorality is one of the main causes of a nation’s decline. Given its importance in a healthy society, Islam supports morality and matters that lead to it, and stands in the way of corruption and matters that lead to it.

The moral and ethical teachings of the holy Quran are too numerous to mention. However, below is a collection of verses from the glorious Quran bordering on some of these teachings under specific headings;

Allah says: ﭺ  ﭻ   ﭼ  ﭽ  ﭾﭿ  ﮀ  ﮁ  ﮂ  ﮄ  ﮅ  ﮆ   ﮇ  ﮈ     ﮉ

Meaning: “And do not turn your face away from people in contempt, nor go about in the land exulting overmuch; surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster; And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys." (Q31:V18-19)

Allah says: ﭑ  ﭒ  ﭓ  ﭔ  ﭕ       ﭖ  ﭗ  ﭘ                 ﭙ  ﭚ  ﭛ   ﭝ   ﭞ  ﭟ  ﭠ  ﭡ   ﭢ  ﭤ  ﭥ  ﭦ   ﭧ  ﭨ  ﭩ  ﭪ  ﭫ  ﭭ  ﭮ  ﭰ   ﭱ  ﭲ   ﭳ  ﭴ

Meaning: “…and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.” (Q49:V12)

Allah says: ﭢ  ﭣ   ﭤ  ﭥ  ﭦ  ﭨ  ﭩ  ﭪ  ﭫ     ﭬ  ﭭ  ﭮ  ﭰ   ﭱ  ﭲ  ﭳ   ﭵ  ﭶ  ﭷ  ﭸ  ﭹ

Meaning: “If you give alms openly, it is well, and if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you; and this will do away with some of your evil deeds; and Allah is aware of what you do.” (Q2:V271)

Meaning: “There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and believes in Allah he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.” (Q2:V256)
