Do They Not Ponder the Qur'an? -47

And truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khâshi'ûn (Al-Baqarah: 45)

means that (Salaah) prayer is difficult except for the humble ones that submit themselves to Allâh. Moreover, prayer which is in form of bowing, prostrating and sitting is not difficult but difficulty comes from the fact that the genuine prayer is that which the performer does with a conscious heart and observes seeking the pleasure of Allâh, reciting the Qur'aan with meditation and reading the supplications and Adhkaar that it involves intending all their meanings without allowing them to flow merely on his tongue whilst he is totally unconscious about their meanings which represent the spirit of worship.

Muhammad Al-Khidr Husain
