Prayer Time

When Allâh preferred to address His prophet (May the blessings and peace of Allâh be on him) by saying:

فلنولينك قبلة ترضاها

Now shall We turn you to a Qibla that shall please you. (Al-Baqarah : 144)

over addressing him by saying: a Qiblah which you love or desire, that proves that the prophet's inclination to Al-Ka'bah (Sacred House of Allâh in Makkah) was that of intending goodness and not due to mere personal desire. This is because Al-Ka'bah is the most revered and worthiest House of Allâh to become the prayer direction. It is the first house set on earth for Mankind for the purpose of unifying Allâh (At-Tawheed). Moreover, the act of initially facing the direction of Baitul-Maqdis (the Sacred Mosque of Jerusalem) and then turning towards Al-Ka'bah portrays the autonomy of this religion over that of the people of the Book (Jews and Christians).
