The Noble Qur’an is entirely Allah’s speech in wordings and meanings revealed to Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) (peace be upon him) over a period of 23 years. Its revelation was entirely in the perspicuous Arabic language as it was the language of the Prophet Muhammad and his immediate community. Its richness in Arabic grammar and its superb arrangements of facts, arguments and past events left the most talented Arab poets at the time of its revelation in a wonderstruck. It is highly unimaginable and impossible for such great Book with such outstanding characteristics to be the creation of the human mind:

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ۚ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ لَوَجَدُوا۟ فِيهِ ٱخْتِلَٰفًا كَثِيرًا

Do they not ponder the Quran? Had it been from any other than God, they would have found in it much discrepancy.” (An-Nisaa” :82)

With the down of these belated centuries where many Muslims in non-Arabian Muslim countries do not understand the Arabic language, the need to get the meanings of the Noble Qur’an translated into other languages was felt by Muslim leaders, scholars and even non-Muslim scholars in the religious academic arena.

Powerful and highly monitored Qur’anic translation projects flourished around the world in addition to single individual efforts by some sincere adherents of this great and indomitable religion of Islam. These efforts gave births to many literal translations of the Glorious Qur’an. A sincere admission must be made here that, due to the richness of the Arabic language, it is always very difficult to have translation of the Qur’an that conveys exact meanings as carried by the language of the Qur’an, however some of the translations have been very close to the original meanings of the Qur’an.

Below are some of the best translations of the Qur’an as found today:

1-THE HOLY QUR’AN: KING FAHD HOLY QUR’AN PRINTING COMPLEX:

An updated version of the Abdullah Y. Ali translation, revised and edited by a committee at The Presidency of Islamic Researches, IFTA, Call and Guidance (through the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah, Saudi Arabia).

2-THE NOBLE QUR’AN, TRANSLATED BY HILALI AND KHAN:

This popular translation by Dr. Muhsin Khan and Dr. Muhammad Al-Hilali is beginning to surpass Abdullah Yusuf Ali's translation as the most popular English rendering of the Quran. Some readers, however, are distracted by the extensive notes contained in the body of the English text itself, rather than in footnotes.

3-THE NOBLE QUR’AN, TRANSLATED BY ABDULLAH YUSIF ALI:

This translation has until recently been the most popular English translation of the Quran. Ali was a civil servant, not a Muslim scholar, and some more recent reviews have been critical of his footnotes and interpretations of some verses. Nevertheless, the English style is more fluent than in previous translations.

4-THE QUR’AN WITH TRANSLITERATION:

Designed for those who want to be able to "read" the Arabic original without having to read Arabic script. The entire Quran is translated into English, and also transliterated into the English alphabet to aid in pronunciation of the Arabic text.
