The Christians claim that on the Day of Judgment, Jesus Christ will hold people accountable and this claim is substantiated with verses from the Bible. Among the verses usually quoted in this regard include John 5: 26-27 (For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.…). also in the letters of Paul to the Corinthians 5:10 it is said that: (For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad). The authenticity of this creed is questionable because of the various distortions that occurred in the Bible. Furthermore, the letters of Paul are not acceptable because he was a Jewish fanatic and was the first to distort the Christian religion by introducing polytheism into it and deity of Jesus Christ.

On the other hand, the Quran has made it unequivocally clear that Allah will be the only one to hold people to account on the Day of Judgment while the Prophets will serve as witnesses over their people. Allah said (translated as): “So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and we bring you, [O Muhammad] against these [people] as a witness?” (Q4:41). Allah also said concerning Himself on the Day of Judgment: “The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense” (Q1:V4)
