Among the eminent female companions of the Prophet of Islam (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was Fatimah bint Al-Waleed Ibn Abdish-Shams. She belonged to the family of Abdishams; the famous makhzoomi clan of the Quraish tribe of the Arabs.
Her father; Al-Waleed, died in the Battle of Al-Yamaamah as a martyr and her Mother was Umm Hakeem the daughter of Abu Jahl.
Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) was married to the third caliph; Uthmaan Ibn Affaan (May Allah be pleased with him) and gave birth to three children namely: Saeed, Al-Waleed and Umm Waleed.
She was among the first immigrants to when the order of migration was given by the holy Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and she was in those days among the best women of Quraish.
She was known for her righteousness, piety and devotion in the worship of Allah. May Allah reward her abundantly for her services to Islam. Aameen.
